Recycling System

The actors involved in the recycling system are described in this section. The technologies applied to recycle the e-waste are also described. Precious metals, such as gold and platinum group metals, copper and aluminium are the main materials recycled. All the recycling is done by industrial recyclers, and unlike in India and China, the informal recycling sector is entirely absent. Information on material and financial flows in the South African system would be published in this section.
