e-Waste Assessment Colombia
EMPA and CNPMLTA are advising the Colombian e-waste Assessment, carried out by the University of the Andes (www.uniandes.edu.co), financed by the Ministry of Environment (MAVDT).
The assessment should provide a detailed overview of existing e-Waste management in Colombia and more specific information about quantitative and qualitative flows of obsolete electronic equipments. The study includes computers, printers, TVs, mobile phones, copiers, toners and cartridges, and batteries.
The investigations started in July 2007 and lasted until end of March 2008. The final report should be available soon!
Besides the study of UniAndes, EMPA was carrying out a more specific assessment only for computers and mobile phones together with CNPMLTA of Medellin.
